The Word's Officially Out! (+ Heartbeat)

~ TWELVE WEEKS ~

We gave the news to my mom and her husband Gerry this past Good Friday after we had been holding the secret for about 3 months waiting for her to fly in from Australia for Easter. She was extremely excited for us and unable to control her tears of joy! The word quickly spread to the rest of her side of the family as everyone was in town for my Grandma's 70th birthday. So now I believe everyone in our family officially knows...

Also on Good Friday we were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time! The doctor said it might take awhile for her to find it, but it surfaced within a second and at a rate of about 160bpm. Next month we'll be going in for our 2nd ultrasound, and then in May at the ultrasound after that, we should be able to determine the sex of the baby - which we aren't going to wait to find out... we like to plan ahead!
